Your Impact
Fighting The Effects Of Poverty
As of January 2021, 14% of Houstonians are living in poverty, with 1 in 3 households categorized as single parent homes and 1 in 4 families struggling to make ends meet, despite being employed. We believe that fighting the effects of poverty requires cooperation and active engagement, and lower poverty rates translate to reduced crime, improved community health, and greater academic achievement, all of which set a standard for growth and success moving forward.
Our History
Creating Relationships
Formed in January 2021, Linking Hearts was built on the premise that real change comes from creating relationships, not just the provision of services. Bridging the gap between providing an initial service and assisting those in need for the long term is what drives our organization and informs our programming. We maintain a connection with all of our clients and work hard to support every program participant.
Donations
Services and Resources
As a 100% percent volunteer force, we rely on donations and contributions from our partners to meet our organizational goals. Donations serve the local community so every contribution and every dollar counts. We believe that availability and access to everyday goods and services go a long way toward improving lives, so food drives for those in food deserts or clothes and furniture for families rebuilding their lives can have effects that extend beyond what we give today.
